1537 (Slight Return)

Despite what the self-serving incompetents who are our elected* government may declare, we are still in the midst of a pandemic.

I am in the process of recovering from Covid at the moment, despite being a healthy person who has had all my various jabs and this ‘only’ being the Omicron variant it has absolutely knocked me sideways. I am still off work, still struggling for breathe after running upstairs and still very grateful my symptoms seem to be waning slowly.

Be careful out there people, I like you. Normal life really does need to resume, but only in a controlled and cautious fashion.

1127 Down (still)

*Spoiler Alert: not by me they bloody weren’t.

  1. Not only is there no pandemic but there were definitely no parties held and there’s definitely no way Down-it Street could do anything about the cost of living crisis either.

Hope you feel better soon dude

      1. Yup, today’s the first day I’ve woken up and thought ‘I feel better than yesterday’. It’s really clobbered me.

      2. Progress! I’m so glad to hear it. I haven’t had it, but know folks who have and yeah, clobbered is a great word for it. Keep on rockin’ it, brother!

  2. Good luck. It’s going around people say. Of course that’s only if you believe those organizations that for years got us over some major stuff like that there WHO whoever they are. My mum has made me promise to drink hot lemon and buckwheat honey to get over my recent crap. If you add a nice single malt it really helps with the coughing.

  3. Ugh, sorry to hear, and hopefully this will pass for you and your wife soon. You’ve read above that our province is dropping most mandates soon. Way too early! I haven’t gotten Covid yet, but certainly soon I suspect, as I work for a college and am back on campus 2x a wk… then I’ll surely be knocked on my arse.

    1. Thanks Sarca. My wife teaches secondary school and so we were astonished she hadn’t caught it until now, as teachers were thrown to the wolves here last year.

My advice for what it’s worth is keep your mask handy .

  4. Ah, shoot. I wondered about the absence. Thought either some drama or a lilo in an infinity pool in the Bahamas. Glad you’re recovering. There’s no rhyme or reason about who gets thumped with a baseball bat and who gets a tap on the wrist. Hopefully some sunny Spring weather on the way? Anyway, take care bud.

  5. Get well soon. Here life is back to somewhat normal as all mask mandates have been dropped, I’m back in the office 2-3 days a week and they barely talk about Covid anymore. It is all Russia/Ukraine now, its like Covid never happened. We could still be having a pandemic, but looking around you can’t really tell anymore.

    1. Cheers Jon. Same here, but it’s when you need to be most vigilant I think. The public have short attention spans everywhere.

  6. Get better soon, man! I’m going to still wear my mask even though they are lifting mandates soon. Our provincial government isn’t listening to science anymore!

  7. They are stopping the mask mandates here shortly. I think it’s too early and will be continuing to wear mine in public. The only advantage to you lot that have gotten Covid is you are less likely to get it again. Stay safe and get better. I will be listening to some special cassettes and sending good vibes across the pond (and way up north) to all the Covid sufferers.

  8. I’m getting over it as well Joe. It went through our house from one person to another. Take it easy, rest and don’t overdue it
    Cheers pal

    1. You too Deke? My problem is that I get so impatient with myself when I’m ill. It is horrible though, getting out of breathe just walking upstairs. Yuk.

  9. My thoughts are with you. I tested positive for Covid this week although, thank God or whatever deity, I haven’t had any symptoms. It’s still a pain in the butt. I hope you’re better very soon.
